January 9: Activity on cybersecurity and the quantum threat
Motivated by Biden's recent signing of the Quantum Cybersecurity Act and the supposed breaking of RSA encryption by Chinese researchers using a quantum computer, Quantum Club welcomed Ted, who gave an introduction to the quantum threat, and facilitated an ethics discussion.
December 12: Guest speaker Ted Theodosopoulos
Ted Theodosopoulos, who teaches a quantum information science class at Nueva, presented on the recent creation of a traversable wormhole on Google's Sycamore computer!
November 28, 2022: Guest speaker Brian Dellabetta
We had the pleasure of welcoming Brian Dellabetta, who presented on his career journey, talked about quantum machine learning, and provided practical career advice.
November 14, 2023: Guest speaker Jerome Gonthier
With a PhD in computational and theoretical chemistry from EPFL, Lausanne, Jerome explained how chemistry is connected to quantum mechanics and give some insight into the field of theoretical chemistry.
October 31, 2022: Guest speaker Ethan Hansen
We welcomed Ethan Hansen, who presented on his work in splitting quantum circuits and gave practical career and life advice to club members.
October 17, 2022: Presentation by Sasha Cocquyt
Sasha presented on a paper about Quantum Circuit Born Machines and generalization capabilities in quantum generative models.
May 25, 2022: Field trip to the LevLab
Members of Quantum Club visited the LevLab at Stanford. We were welcomed by Professor Lev and his graduate students and learned about their cutting edge quantum experiments using dysprosium and Many-Body Cavity QED.

We welcomed Dr. Tsung-Yao Wu, a quantum engineer at Atom Computing, for an insightful presentation on qubits and his work at Atom Computing.
